Looking for caterpillers near our home
Our lives were forever changed in August 2008 when our adoption worker contacted us to say that Addison’s birth family wanted to meet us after reading our profile. We were blessed with Addison’s birth a few months later. After we were matched, we visited with Addison’s birth mother as often as we could before Addison was born so we could get to know each other. We shared stories about ourselves, shared our open adoption expectations and even worked together to choose Addison’s first and middle names. Addison is fortunate to have both her birth great-grandmother and adoptive great-grandmother’s names as her middle names.
We continue to have an open relationship with Addison’s birth family and meet with Addison’s birth Mom at various times throughout the year. We send regular updates on Addison’s favourite activities/books/toys/food and her ever-growing vocabulary. We share the numerous pictures and videos that help document the milestones in her life, from first smiles to first songs and her infectious belly laugh.
We love being parents, and Addison has shown us a whole world of love, laughter and joy that we never imagined existed. She is a delightful soul who fearlessly tackles every new experience and gives the best bear hugs. We are thankful every day to have her in our lives, and we are proud to be her parents.
